A member of the Squash family GOURD Bitter long is a very popular tropical climber with vines that grow 5-6 metres tall with warted skin cucumber-like fruits that are crisp and tender when harvesting young, 25-30 cm long. Also known as Bitter Squash.
A summer variety that is used extensively in Asian and Indian cuisine including stir-fries and curries.

First pickings after 55-60 days.

Grow notes:

Adaptable to most good garden soils but prefers rich soil with a generous amount of water in full sun.

Sow: 2cm deep
Sow 3-4 seeds in raised mounds 1 metre apart in a direct growing position. Thin to the two strongest plants in each mound.
