This fiery hot chilli is the one by which all other chillies are judged. Ripened they can be dark green or red. They have a very thick fleshy skin and are sausage shaped with a blunt end. They have a reputation of being the hottest chilli, but heat levels can vary from mild to very hot.
Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers a well-drained, well fed soil in a sunny position. Annual in temperate climates perennial in the tropics.
Capsicums require warmth for germination, if starting early provide warmth.

Grow in trays of a good seed raising mix and transplant when 6-7cm tall.
