This mix includes: Lacinato, Red Winter, Vates and Red Russian kale varieties. A great colourful mix, 40-80 cm tall.
Lacinato kale grows 60-90 cm tall and has dark blue-green leaves; the taste is as slightly sweeter than curly kale. This variety of kale has a long tradition in Italian cuisine, especially that of Tuscany.
Red Winter Kale:
Russian-Siberian variety red winter kale is very cold hardy and uniform. It is more tender than most kales, and especially well-suited for winter gardening
Low compact plants with finely curled bluish-green leaves. Good cooked or fresh in salads.
Red Russian Kale:
Open pollinated heirloom from Russia with blue green oak leaf type brassica with purple veining. Ornamental and edible the thick stems can withstand heavy snows, cold hardy to -10C with little protection.
Adaptable to most garden soils that is composted and well-drained in a sunny position.
