A very attractive plant with large round purple leaves with a spicy pungent flavour. Young leaves are green intensifying to purple as they mature. Purple Osaka is mild mustard spinach that can be used in salads or stir-fry. The flowers and flower stems are also edible and make a make a great vegetable.

Baby leaves can be harvest after 20 days, mature leaves 40 days.

Best sown direct in growing postion. Cover lightly and keep moist.

Prefers moist fertile well-drained soil but grows well in almost any garden soil in a sunny position with adequate water.

Grow fast with plenty of water and regular feeds of liquid manure to avoid bitterness.
