Potentilla seeds are small and should be sown shallowly.

The best time to sow Potentilla seed is generally winter and spring. Optimum germination temperatures 15-20°C
Sow the surface and cover very lightly as they need a degree of light to germinate keep the seed in a well-lit position but not in full sun.

  • If growing in trays, gently transplant them with they are large enough to handle.
  • If sowing directly into the ground scatter it over a weed-free area at a rate of gram/m² 0.2g and rake over lightly keeping moist.

Germination: 14-21 days at the optimum germination temperatures 15-20°C

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
