Cosmos Versailles red is a robust variety of Cosmos that blooms early and has strong stems. Its flowers are 5-6 cm wide and red with a yellow centre. It is a great addition to meadows and cottage gardens.
Cosmos flowers are perfect for cutting and have a vase life of 5-7 days. Harvest the flowers in the early morning when they have just opened. These bedding plants are perfect for low-maintenance gardens and add vibrant colour to any spring or summer garden. Cosmos is a popular garden plant, and many cultivars are available in just about every shade and colour.
Cosmos thrive on neglect, making it ideal for wildflower meadows or naturalized areas.
Cosmos bipinnatus is native to Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.
The best time of year to sow Cosmos seeds is mid-spring to mid-summer in cold zones.
In temperate zones, the best time is early spring to mid-summer. In tropical zones seed should be sown in the dry mid-Autumn to late winter is best.

Germination: 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 20-25°C
