An attractive shrub or small tree that produces an abundance of pink, sweet-scented, rounded flower-heads about 10 cm across during the summer months.
Forms a rounded bushy habit with glossy- green leaves with a bluish hue.

Makes a good specimen that added will a mass of colour to the garden.
An evergreen in warmer climates but is deciduous in cold climates.

Native to South Africa.

Prefers a light to medium well-drained soil in a protected sunny position, drought and frost resistant.

Although seed can be sown most of the year in Australia seed is generally best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22°C for this species.

  1. Soak seed overnight in tepid water.
  2. Sow 3mm keep keep warm & moist but not wet.
  3. Germination should occur in 14-28 days @ 18-22°C

General note: Seeds of many natives are dormant and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
