An heirloom variety of leek dating back to 1834 and named after a coastal market town on the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh in Scotland.

A popular traditional leek with exceptionally large thick white stems and a mild flavour. A very dependable variety that is extremely reliable and hardy, performs well in even the coldest winter.

Perfers a rich fertile soil, prefers an open sunny position.

Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils, prefers an open sunny position.

Tropical: Late Summer to Autumn
Temperate: Spring to Autumn
Cool: Spring to Autumn.

Sow: 6mm deep
Sow direct in growing position or in trays and transplant when 6-7cm tall.
Plant space: 15-20 cm
Row Space: 10-15 cm
Germination: 10-14 days
Maturity: 12-18 weeks
