A fast growing perennial that produces large fragrant white crepe-textured flowers with yellow centres that open on summer evenings, fading the next day to soft pink.

A good choice for the rock garden or as edging. Especially suited to hot, dry sites with well-drained soil. A hardy plant will self-sow readily.

Originates from North America.

Prefers a well drained soil in an open sunny position, drought tolerant once established.

Adaptable to most soils and conditions providing it is in a sunny position.

Tropical: Autumn.
Sub-tropical: Spring & Summer
Temperate: Spring & Summer.
Cold: Mid-spring to Mid-summer.

Sow: on surface and cover very lightly. Requires light to germinate.
For best results sow directly into soil where they are to grow. If growing on trays transplant when large enough to handle avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 14-21 days.
Flowering: 16 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
