The large red flowers with black centres are unmistakeable annuals. Today the red Flanders poppy remains a symbol of the war and its fallen heroes. Today it is probably the world’s most popular wildflower because of its brilliant and striking colours as well as its ability to grow wild year after year. Poppies are always more dramatic when planted in mass, a must for every spring garden. Self-sows freely.
Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in an open sunny position. Tolerant to poor sandy soils and is drought and frost resistant.

For best results sow directly into soil where they are to grow. If grown early indoors use a growing container that can be planted directly into the soil such as jiffy pots as seedlings do not like root disturbance.
