An American bred pumpkin that was bred in 1978 as the first bush variety of the long-time favourite Butternut pumpkin butternut.
Produces long and pear-shaped fruits 12 cm in diameter and 20-30 cm in length.

A very versatile with a sweet nutty taste. Delicious as a roast or steamed vegetable or as an alternative to pumpkin in pies, roasts or soups.

The semi-bush type habit makes it ideal for growing in small areas.

Adaptable to most good garden soils but prefers a rich soil with generous amount of water in full sun.

Cool climate: Mid Spring to Early Summer

Sow: 2cm deep
Sow 3-4 seeds in raised mounds 1 metre apart in direct in growing position. Thin to to the two strongest plants in each mound.

Row Space: 1 metre
Germination: 6-10 days
Maturity: 14 weeks
