An heirloom variety that dates back to the 18th  century.

Produces good yields of 3-4 cm pear-shaped bright-red cherry tomatoes that have a very sweet flavour.

The Red Fig tomato was named for a sweet delicacy that was made with this tomato and was popular in the mid-1800s. Historically they were dried and packed away for winter use as a substitute for figs.

Adaptable to most soils but produces the best fruit in deep free-draining soil with consistent moisture in a sunny position. Protect from strong winds, and support with stakes when required.
