An heirloom beet with sweet flavours that have been refined and improved over the years.

Egyptian beetroot is a flatter rooted beet with smooth skin and a deep red, tender and flavoursome flesh.

Roots grow mainly above the surface of the soil in a well-drained and sunny position and once harvested, will store well for use through the winter months. Fast growing beet.

Cool climate: Spring to Early Autumn

Sow: 12mm deep
For best results grow in trays of a quality seed raising mix transplant when 6cm high. Alternatively sow direct and thin to strongest plant.
Plant space: 10-12cm
Row Space: 20-25cm
Germination: 10-14 days
Maturity: 8-10 weeks

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position. Avoid deformed beets by planting them in loose soil free from stones or rocks.
