With an upright growing habit and requiring no support, 'Little Sweetheart' is not your ordinary vining, climbing sweet pea. This is a very low growing variety producing neat compact plants which make them terrific for containers or to be used in bedding displays; blooms profusely in a fragrant mixture of red, pink, white, rose, purple and blue.

Traditionally the 17th of March, St Patrick's Day, is the date used as a guide for sowing sweet peas in many parts of Australia.

Pre-treatment: Soak seed in water overnight.

Sow: 25 mm deep.

Tropical climates: Late summer Autumn
Sub-tropical climates: Autumn
Temperate climates: Autumn
Cold climates: Spring or Late summer-mid Autumn.

Germination: 10-14 days.

Seed can also be started by soaking seed overnight and placing on a moist paper towel and folding over. Put the paper towel with the seed in a plastic bag and place on top of the refrigerator. Check daily for moisture content and any seed that has germinated. Seed should start to germination in 3-5 days after which they can be sown at the required depth.
